Treating Plantar Fasciitis

A tell tale sign of plantar fasciitis hands-down, is foot pain in the morning.  Did you know that there is a  very simple 2 step treating plantar fasciitis techniques at home that will give you foot pain relief in the morning?  It’s so simple yet so very effective for relief of your plantar fasciitis symptoms and crippling foot pain.

Simply rolling the ankle as soon as your foot hits the floor should help loosen up your foot arch.  Basically the arch support muscles are still sleeping so when you put your foot to the floor, your arches are still tight and tense.

But an even more effective treatment method for plantar fasciitis is something called Cold and Hot Water Hydrotherapy.  Trust me, this works like gangbusters!

The process here is to use both hot and cold water to encourage and improve circulation throughout your feet and legs.  To no surprise, improving circulation helps to aid and promote the healing process.  This type of therapy may also be effective in decreasing and minimizing muscle knots, as a result an improvement in the overall function of the arch.

You may find that you are able to decrease pain symptoms associated with plantar fasciitis using hydrotherapy instead of icing.  If so, replace icing with hydrotherapy.

To effectively implement cold and hot water hydrotherapy, immerse the lower leg first in hot water for a minute then immediately switch to cold water.  Repeat this process for 3 passes but remember to finish off with cold water immersion to help control any possible swelling and inflammation of the foot.

A question for you…Isn’t every muscle and joint in your body a little stiff in the morning?  So why would you expect your feet to be any different, especially when you suffer from plantar fasciitis.  The exception with plantar fasciitis is that it’s not only stiff but, the fascia is also swollen and irritated.  A brutal combination to remind you who’s in charge.

I highly recommend the hot and cold water hydrotherapy early in the morning when you wake.  This should get you off on the right foot in the morning (sorry about that…) and keep your foot pain at bay.

But if you are suffering from plantar fasciitis, remember you’re not alone.  But I have to say that the biggest mistake that most plantar fasciitis sufferers make when treating plantar fasciitis is taking the ‘wait-and-see’ approach.  Simply put, your plantar fasciitis pain will get worse the longer you wait to treat it plus your recovery time can take even longer!

So do you really want to know how to treat plantar fasciitis – to cure it for good?
